Founder's Day to draw thousands to Charlestown

The celebration of Founder’s Day – the 201st anniversary of the founding of Charlestown – will draw thousands to the city to enjoy activities and entertainment for the entire family.

July another busy month for Parks

After a fun-filled spring, the Charlestown Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for an eventful July. After successful Movies in Greenway Park events in May and June, the months of July and August will see five more movie events on five consecutive weeks.

Digital Connectors learn Web design

The Digital Connectors of Charlestown will be able to provide another valuable service to businesses and community groups in the city after completing a three-day training session Wednesday on the use of Web-site design software.
The training prepared the Charlestown High School students participating in the Digital Connectors program to construct Web sites for local businesses, allowing them to reach a much broader audience through the World Wide Web.

City Hall Remodeled

Improvements to City Hall enhanced the structural integrity of the building while effectively doubling the office space, but improvement costs were kept low by reusing materials from other sites.

High School teachers train for one-to-one

Charlestown High School teachers will begin training for the implementation of the school’s one-to-one computer initiative this summer in anticipation of students receiving their MacBook computers in the fall.
