From the Chairmen of the Board. . . Hello for February 2008!

I consider this month a milestone. It is almost a  year since my wife picked up the local paper and read to me a news article about a meeting to form a senior citizen group in Charlestown.  Since I had recently retired, we were looking for new things to do in the community.  We attended the meeting at the Arts and Enrichment Center along with other interested citizens.  It was apparent to many that Charlestown needed a senior organization. The organization was formed and has grown to a membership of over 150 people.

We have had luncheons, games, exercise, programs, painting, crafts, and  participated in many community activities. Yet I continue to feel, whether at a high or a low, that the work and enjoyment of all the senior citizens is important, sincere, real and productive.. I feel good about the achievements of 2007, and I continue to feel very optimistic about how our organization will continue to mature and expand. Please come check out any of our activities days and get out of the house during a dreary month. We hope you will join us in promoting the many benefits that membership offers, and being involved in the community.
