Diane Staton joined the mayor’s staff as the Mayor’s Assistant in February, 2010. Diane is responsible for managing the mayor’s busy schedule, coordinating meetings and events, and works closely with the other departments to ensure effective communication. Diane is also responsible helping in the continued development of the Block Watch program and for writing all content all for city communications including press releases, statements, the city’s newsletter and website content.
Since earning her Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1995 from Indiana University Southeast, Diane has worked for several well-respected organizations in Southern Indiana and the Louisville Metro area. At Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana, she managed educational programs in Southern Indiana, and also served on the team that launched JA’s Chase Finance Park, an experiential learning program teaching financial literacy to young adults. Diane was also employed in Operations and Corporate Communications for ACCENT Marketing. Most recently, Diane was employed by the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau where she managed Louisville’s downtown Visitors Center. Her overall experience includes operations and administration, event planning, volunteer programs, corporate communications, public relations and marketing. Diane is a life-long resident of Clark County. She has been a permanent resident of Charlestown for four years.
