Clearitas was designed for use in water distribution systems and is NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Standard 60 certified as safe for drinking water and meets EPA (Environment Protection Agency) standards as a disinfectant scale remover. There are no toxic or caustic components and no protective gear is necessary when handling it.

The product is tasteless, colorless, and odorless when mixed with water.
