Saturday, June 21
1o AM-2 PM – Diversity Festival & Day of Service at Greenway Park. Led by local Charlestown area teenagers, the event features vendors, music, That's My Dog food truck, and a community service project of cleaning up along Pleasant Run Creek and Greenway Park.
1o AM-1 PM – Saturdays on the Square Pop-Up Market at the City Square. The weekly market offers various local vendors along with music.
2 PM - Prince & Princess Pageant at the Arts & Enrichment Center. Contestants must be aged 5-7 years old and reside in Charlestown and surrounding counties. The entry fee is $20. Pageant applications are online.
Sunday, June 22
2PM – Team Trivia at the Arts & Enrichment Center. Brush up on your knowledge from 1960 to today! The "Harry Potter & the British Invasion" themed Trivia Night takes place with prize baskets going to the top teams. The event is free and no registration is required. Play begins at 2:15.
3:30-5:30 PM – A&E Center Open House at the Arts & Enrichment Center. See the newly remodeled Arts & Enrichment Center located at 999 Water Street. Light snacks and refreshments will be served.
6PM – Shakespeare in the Park: Much Ado About Nothing at the City Square. Enjoy the Shakespeare comedy on the Charlestown City Square presented by the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana. Rain location will be the Arts & Enrichment Center.
Monday, June 23
9 AM-3 PM - Brick Building Clinic at Charlestown Middle School, hosted by Charlestown Parks in partnership with University of Louisville J.B. School of Engineering, Dan Cristiani Excavating, Greater Clark Educational Foundation, Maker 13, CORE Construction, Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, King Donuts, and Zaxby's of Jeffersonville. Students (ages 8-12) will design and create with Legos with guidance from engineers and designers! Pre-registration is required (limit to first 80 students and must be Greater Clark Schools students or Charlestown residents).
Tuesday, June 24
6-9 PM - Moore Family Ice Cream Social and Gospel Singing MOVED TO THE ARTS & ENRICHMENT CENTER. Enjoy ice cream sundaes and a variety of local musicians. Music begins at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 25
6 PM - "Marriage, Mob, Murder" Mystery Dinner Party at the Arts & Enrichment Center. Enjoy a mystery dinner and see if you can solve the case of a suspicious school reunion! Dinner is provided by Mar Concessions. Tickets are $30 each or $160/table. Purchase tickets
Friday, June 27
6-9 PM - Family Fun Night at the Family Activities Park. Enjoy a free hot dog, water and Blue Bell Ice Cream on us (first 150 guests)! The Family Activities Park will be open for free for families to enjoy a night out. The Depot will have live music – Willis Tucker Band – from 7-9 p.m.
6 PM – Louisville Roller Derby Exhibition Match at the Family Activities Park part of Family Fun Night! See the competition and athleticism of the Louisville Roller Derby team as they bring action to Charlestown! They'll introduce the crowd to the sport, then perform a 30-minute match. Skaters will stick around and help teach and coach those looking to learn the basics of skating, or advanced moves!
Saturday, June 28
8 AM-6 PM - Kentucky Small Critter Convention at the Arts & Enrichment Center. The convention is the top fundraising event hosted by The Celtic Glider for nonprofit organization Cordy's Castle. Link to ticket information.
10AM-3PM - Backyard Classics Car Club 27th Annual Car Show on the Charlestown City Square. Cars will line Main, Main Cross, and Short Street. Enjoy the wonderful cars along with music, fun, prizes, and food trucks (The German Corner, Yello Sno, Donut NV). Car registration forms can be picked up at City Hall or downloaded.
1 PM - Founders Week Parade – "Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood" - This year's Grand Marshal is Donna Coomer, who has served as the City of Charlestown's Clerk Treasurer for 25 years! The parade route begins at Charlestown High School and heads down Monroe Street to Main Street to Level Street before returning to the high school. Enter the parade or join us along the route! 2 PM - Amateur Corn Hole Tournament location has been moved to the Family Activities Park. The blind-draw tournament is for amateurs and recreational players only. Sponsored by Ace Hardware, the 1st place team will win Yeti Coolers and a $50 gift card. The 2nd place team will win $50 gift cards. Registration day of event.
2-11 PM - Rock and Glow Festival, Balloon Glow and Concert at Charlestown Little League Park. The festival grounds open at 2 p.m. with a live D.J. pumping music until 5 p.m. when live bands take over the stage. The Family Festival Field will feature bounce houses, games, and activities from Charlestown Parks and area organizations. Local craft vendors will be set up throughout the event as well.
Tethered balloon rides will be offered to give a fantastic view of Charlestown ($15 adults/$10 children) starting at approximately 6 p.m. Once the sun sets, the hot air balloons will light up the sky for a balloon glow. On the stage, the Blind Corn Liquor Pickers perform at 6 p.m. followed by headliners The Rigby's, a tribute band to The Beatles, at 9 p.m. Fields will also include bounce houses and games. The food truck line-up will be Mar Concessions, Potato Station, Winks Ice Cream, Yello Sno, Aunt Janettas Funnel Cakes, Scotty Jo's Concessions, Old Time Popcorn, Rancho Alegre Taco Truck, and Chick-Fil-A.
